Hi Eric...

I have no doubts that model manufacturers mess up paint jobs from time
to time. My comments, and also Thomas' comments, were in regard to
prototype paint colors which do vary all over the map due to different
paint batches, age, sun, weathering, etc. I suppose you are correct
that model paint jobs vary all over a much larger map than the prototype
ever did just because of carelessness and/or honest errors -- not to
mention lost paint chips.

Cheers...Ed L.

You Guys want to see differences in paint put a Great Northern SHS F7
next to an GN AM FP7 next to a new Lionel GN AF EP5 electric. They are
not even close. The green or the orange. The AM and the SHS are
relatively close to each other but SHS is greaner and the orange is
close. The Lionel is way off of the other 2. Way more forest green and
much brighter orange. I know the GN guys fight over colors all the time
on their HO models, this is as bad if not worse.
