Hi Eric... I have no doubts that model manufacturers mess up paint jobs from time to time. My comments, and also Thomas' comments, were in regard to prototype paint colors which do vary all over the map due to different paint batches, age, sun, weathering, etc. I suppose you are correct that model paint jobs vary all over a much larger map than the prototype ever did just because of carelessness and/or honest errors -- not to mention lost paint chips.
