Another point to consider for branch vs. mainline. How quickly can you build/buy enough equipment for the mainline operations? And if you do, and find them too intense or can't fit enough in even the larger space, how well can you recover costs of extra equipment? If you start with the branch you can be closer to fully operational in a shorter time. If there isn't enough going on, then you can expand to include the mainline (when moving to the larger space might be a good point to consider this). If you built stuff to run on the main that doesn't fit the branch, scaling back would be difficult compared with scaling up. Just random thoughts. I have an ICC valuation photo of the T&OC in Bellefontaine with a house in the background that is a dead ringer for ours (before we replaced the front porch). Interesting how a house about 8 miles from where I grew up is identical to a house 160 miles away - ours was built in the 1880s, as this one probably was, and this is a house I would like to model. There is a lot of clutter in Bellefontaine.
