A recent comment that naming a car after a wife would be expensive because the gentleman would need to get married.
Please let me take a minute to point out the serious error in this logic. Getting married is not an expense, it is an investment. It is an investment in someone to help you paint backdrop scenery, someone to come to your train room and mention how cute your new UP Turbine looks. It is an investment in someone who will hold the bandage for you after the Exacto knife slips, someone to bake chocolate chip cookies for your train buddies and make sure that there is hot water for tea. Clearly this is not an expense. Similarly, buying trains is an investment. I have calculated that I have about 300 hours on my SHS SW1200. This includes an NMRA national, several other open house tours and many evenings of running. To date, this investment has paid off in fun at the rate of about 0.50 per hour. Tough to find that type of value any where else in the world. Now to make this point clear, a divorce is an expense, you get S------ without being kissed plus you get a great deal of aggrivation that goes on and on. Better that you find some woman that you hate and just go ahead and buy her a house and car, saving the lawyer fees.
