Brian:

Just got back in town (my kids wanted to see Mickey Mouse land
celebrate 50) and was catching up on my e-mail when I saw your post.
Since no one has responded on the list, I thought I would reply.

I have installed Kadee Nos. 5 & 802's, and SHS 1295's on PRS cars.
Nos 5 & 802 are the easiest to install because the Kadee self-tapping
screws can be used. However, you have to assemble the 802's which can
be a pain in the butt (seems those little springs sure like to fly).
You may find, as I do, that the No. 5 is too small. YMMV.

My coupler of choice now is the SHS 1295. They do come assembled.
The only drawback IMHO is that there are no self-tapping screws small
enough for the installation (sounds like a new project for someone -
uh oh, been hanging around Ed too long - now I am thinking up
projects for others <VBG>). Consequently, I drill & tap holes for
0080 machine screws. It is a little extra work, but I think it is
easier than assembling 802's and the 1295's are a better coupler IMHO.

Hope this helps,
