If by "DCC ready" you mean that there is an eight-pin socket (with a
DC plug in it for DC operation out of the box), then you simply have
to remove the DC plug and insert a decoder that has an eight-pin NMRA
medium plug. There are no wiring issues to worry about; just program
the locomotive address, enter it into your DCC throttle, and start
running the locomotive.

In my "DCC ready" Train Master I used a $20 NCE D13SRP 1.3 amp (2.0
amp peak) decoder. All decoder manufacturers make a basic, economical
decoder, and any of them will work.
