I made a quick in and out of Chicago on Monday, not wanting to drive the
freeways, I found myself on heading nort from O'Hare on the local highways to
Buffalo Grove. Wow! what a deal, I traveled right through Des Plaines and the
saw a hobby shop. With my meeting done and a few hours to spend before my
scheduled flight, I returned the same way and visited the famous Des Plaines
Hobbies. Besides seeing Ron and Susan, Ron showed me test shots from a new
detail parts kit he is introducing this fall, AB brake parts. The test shots
were very crisp, the reserviour was in two pieces, Ron said that was to avoid a
non prototypical seam that is on so many other modeled brake parts. These
details will be great for updating the brake gear on my USRA boxcars, adding
brake detail to American Models cars, super detailing PRS boxcars and of course
updating the brakes on the X29 cars that Ron promises in the fall. I have not
herard absolutely that this will be the fall of 2005, but that sure seems
possible with the progress I see on the test shots.

Wow, just how much fun can we have in S?

Ken
