Gentlemen, Many of you who have attended past NASG conventions might
remember Jack Troxell's wife Margaret. When we used to meet at Jack's
house every Thursday night to build something in S, she often would be
engrossed in putting together some elaborate puzzle--you know the ones
with thousands of cardboard pieces. I always thought that RR modelers
had a better purpose in life because what we put together, we got to run
or at least set next to the tracks on our layout. After three weeks of
'puzzling' she had to tear it all down and put it back in the box!
Also, hopefully when we all go to the roundhouse in the sky, just maybe
some of our best efforts will find a new home on someone's layout!
I have thinned out my 'unbuilts' to perhaps a dozen or so, problem
is my layout is near gridlock! I have sold dozens of built cars over
the years, some to my regret, but something has to give. One of the bad
things about living in Texas is the total lack of basements for storage
plus we also have a mold factor here--believe me, an old kit smells like
an old kit!
