Egads! My wife is a die-hard Capitan Kirk fan. He was her teen-age hunk. We
grew up 50 miles apart and literally watched the same broadcasts from 3:30 PM
to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday from KROC, Rochester, MN.
Since we got married, I purchased Catherine all of the ATM kits. They
are still unassembled. From 1971 to 1978 a Klingon Battle Cruiser hung above
my layout. For a shorter period of time I had the NC1701. I wonder where they
are today?
I can't help you with the beaming but we can simulate it. Get a piece of
hologram film and turn it into a cylinder. A halogen spotlight on it will give
it a nice glow. A small sound chip could provide the 'shimmy' sound for the
beam-up and beam-down. Put the sound and light on a timer and Bones can
beam-up and down.
Before you go any further with this, find a copy of Barbara Hambley's
"Ishmael". It's Spock in the Washington Territory: 1887. I purchased it
because it was Barbara Hambley and she is a very good writer. The discovery it
is Star Trek was a wonderful bonus. (I last re-read it about two weeks ago.)

Hi Thorin,
That actually sounds kind of neat. I have my Star Trek ships that I can hang
up and pretend that they did a 'time warp' back to the 1950's like they did in
one of original series episodes. I am not sure what they would be doing over
Owen Sound but I think that it might be cool to simulate someone beaming down
to the station to catch the mixed train to Wiarton just because perhaps Bones
McCoy was a 'railfan' and wanted to ride on the Wiarton sub before it was
abandonned in 1960. The train could actually stop at Chesley to let him off to
do a little trout fishing in the creek there.
Now, just how to simulate the beam down and beam up???
cheers,
