Has anyone had experience with these towers coming apart? One of the
threaded screw holes that holds the two halves together has become
stripped and the screw no longer holds the thing tightly together. The
result is that the screw holding the sideframe to the bottom doesn't
hold either because its hole is slightly spread. That's a problem
because of the 'spring drive'.

My temporary fix has been to dab some CCA glue into the threads of the
housing, let dry and 'retap' the hole through the dried glue with the
screw. I was surprised when it worked because of all the grease in
these things.

What's a long term fix to this problem other than buying a die and tap
set of slightly larger size or ordering a new gear tower housing?
