But if I might be so bold to add to this... let me state that those of us HO
modelers who consider ourselves to be scale modelers do not use toy-like
(Atlas, LifeLike and Bachmann, or the no-longer-made Tyco and/or AHM) code
100 turnouts, opting instead for code 83 or smaller which are only availible
by higher-quality manufacturers.  Peco has recently released a code 83 line
of track and switches, but I had always considered them to be a mid-grade
manufacturer.
