From: Jamie Bothwell <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: Re: Brass Collectors poll what do those results show us? Always ready to do real science, Jamie Bothwell Gents...."S"eems to me this is a brass COLLECTORS poll which, by definition, excludes those who desire to operate and enjoy model trains running on layouts. COLLECTORS are simply investors by a different name. Folks looking for appreciation in value for future resale. Don't scratch the box or put the train on the track since it will lower the value! That would be terrible. I think this poll shows that 18% of those who answered the question do it in S scale. Given the large amount of cheap Chinese mass produced plastic in the other scales, perhaps S scale -- as usual -- is lagging behind with a high proportion of brass collectors. Though I have yet to meet my first genuine S scale brass collector. Everyone I knows runs 'em and complains if'n they do not run well. Cheers...Ed L.
