Gentlemen....(You too Jamie)......... :>)

Another trip to my bottomless attic has yielded a box with the
following:

Quantity=1, AF 3-bay hopper body casting with conversion bolsters.
Mint/new unpainted. Made by ACE in the 1970s. Intent: easy
conversion kit to make an AF body into a "scale" model. No trucks or
couplers.

Quantity=1, AF boxcar body casting with zamac metal conversion floor.
Body casting is mint/new unpainted. Made by ACE in the 1970s. Intent:
easy conversion kit to make an AF body into a "scale" model. No trucks
or couplers.

Quantity=24, ACE zamac cast boxcar conversion floors to convert AF box
cars (and reefers, stock cars, etc.) into "scale" models. Most are
mint/new unpainted. About five are spray painted black. No trucks or
couplers.

So why would anyone want these products in this day and age? Here are
the reasons:

1. You have a bunch of AF cars and would like to have them run on scale
wheels and utilize scale couplers. This is the easiest way to
accomplish that.

2. You have a youngster to whom you would like to teach kit building
skills. This is a good way to do that utilizing AF bodies picked up at
some flea market for a buck or two each. Said youngster can learn how
to attach trucks, couplers, paint, decal, weather, underbody detailing,
ladders & grab irons, and last but not least -- brake wheels!

3. You place a high nostalgia value on all things S. These products
are nostalgic to say the least. You can create a new wing in your AF/S
scale museum.

4. You are willing to build some kits for Ed L. in order to help him
clear out his attic of old but new stuff that has no home on the mighty
NYC. Yep, no cash needed. Just build a kit or two and get it for free.
Contact off list to negotiate the deal and details.

5. You like to kitbash things for yourself that are uniquely different
from all the mass produced stuff made by K-Line, Lionel, etc. that is on
everyone else's layout. These are some of the basic building blocks.

6. You want to help out poor old Ed L who needs all the help he can
get.

7. If nobody wants this stuff, maybe Andy Malette's model RR club at
school could use it? What say, Andy?

Thanks for considering this special opportunity. Remember: they aren't
making this stuff any more. Once it is gone, it is gone. Whether that
is good or bad is a matter of great debate. :>)

Cheers...Ed L.
