Gents...

Found in my bottomless attic is a unique product intended to encourage
AF guys to convert to scale. Made many years ago by The Hobby Shop in
San Jose, CA, these conversion wheels are made to replace original AF
diesel wheels with scale wheels. Remove the AF wheels, press on these
wheels, and -- Lo! -- a scale diesel results. Well, at least it will
operate on scale trackage.

The installation instruction sheet says these wheels are for AF locos
#360-361-364-370-405. Don't ask me what those numbers mean, but the
wheels appear to be suitable for the AF ALCO PA diesels. In the box are
20 brass wheels, 11 nylon insulators, and one instruction sheet. The
instruction sheet includes drawings showing how to make the conversion
using common hand tools such as a hammer, center punch, vise, etc. No
machine shop is needed.

Presumably, you could convert your olde Flyer diesel to scale operation,
run it on your layout, and then convert it back to "pure" AF at a future
date, place said diesel on eBay, and auction it off to pay for your
children's collitch education. I mean, after all, isn't all that AF
stuff supposed to be valuable?

Free to a good home. Promise me you will actually put 'em to use, send
me $4 for postage, and they will arrive in your mailbox. What more
could you want?

Cheers...Ed L.
