I am working on some CAD drawings/patterns for CNW Pullman-standard
passenger cars. The only source I have is Pullman-Standard vol 9, CNW W.
David Randall & William G Anderson. Would like more detailed information on
the roof profile. Anyone have the AAR 1940, rev 1946 profile for passenger
cars with standard ARCI floor arrangement in detail? The information I have
is clear on side sheet line, center of coupler, width, height, lower skirt
radius, lower window glass line, but lacking contour/radius information on
roof. I know that the roof peeks at 13'6" above the top of rail, starts to
radius from the sides at 26 1/8" from the top, with a 12" radius. After
that I am lost. Hoping some day to make the 400 in brass as accurately as
possible. I need radius and reference points for the roof profile.

Also seeking some accurate undercarraige detail. Does Pullman technology,
16412 Lathrop Ave, Harvey Ill 60426 still exist, anyone have their phone
number? Most of these cars had Waukesha Ice Engine air conditioning and a
body hung belt driven generator. I would love to have some builders
drawings.

Winter finds me building my first #10 double crossover and the McGonagles
boiler on the taig lathe and sherline mill. Microengineering spikes and
these minature machines are my way of relieving stress. The crossover has
been fun and time consuming. Hopefully the McGonagle can make a lap in the
pool at this years convention on her own and not catch fire. The
founder/owner of Cheddar models, England, passed away, the company was
bought out and many incredible live steam products are on hold. Thats where
the hope I don't catch on fire came from. Guess I will run it on a radio
control burner and the the pop off! The automatic boiler control wont be
available for at least 12 months.

Do you think any scale modeler ever lived long enough to build the models
that they dream of. There is no end, alway another model around the corner,
better than the last. Cheers for the dreams.

>From NW Wisconsin wishing you all a scale model Merry Christmas. IT'S WARM
HERE, REALLY, 40+ DEGREES.
