It looks like Yahoo!Groups has finally upgraded our photos section. Gone are
the file folders (and multi-level folders) and have been replaced by spiral
bound photo albums. All files that weren't previously in a folder have been
put into an album called Miscellaneous. I previously posted what the changes
would be, but there is also a link explaining this at the top of the photos
page.

The end result of this is that all of us can now view larger photos - not just
the poster and moderators. This should make the photo section more usable for
us.

*** Please note - this does not mean that huge files should now be uploaded!
We should still try to keep the file size under 100 kb, preferably under 30 kb,
so more files can be uploaded for all to enjoy. There are plenty of members of
this list who can help out if you don't know how to do this. ***

What I have gathered from other groups where the conversion already happened,
is that the conversion required the large file size for the conversion.
Because of a lack of space, the large files that could only be seen by the
poster and moderators were deleted by us previously, so the current files in
the photos section will not have this feature, but all files loaded after this
will have this feature. Current files can be uploaded again if you wish the
group to see the larger size.

Just to summarize, in the past, 3 sizes existed for each file uploaded - a
thumbnail, a medium-sized file viewed when the thumbnail was clicked, and a
large-sized file viewable only by the moderators and the poster. This large
file was originally planned to be used by Yahoo to print photos group members
could then purchase.
