Subject: S-Scale Modeling How does one model a trackside winery when
specific details are lacking
Also how does go about modeling wine vats in 3/16?

DAVE:
I have no idea how big (diameter) a wine vat is, nor if you're alluding
to a closed vat or an open vat. Regardless, I modeled a water vat some years
ago. Were it not for a totally incompetent ISP, you could take a peek at the
results on my web site.......which, unfortunately, at the moment is totally
out-of-commission. Anyway, to create the water vat, I coated the exterior of
a plastic Kodak film canister with basswood, and, I believe, used some
mono-filiment fishing line for retainers along the circumference. And, I
think I got the tap from a JAKS plumbing set, or it could have been an SSLS
plumbing set. Can't remember. The only downside I seen for you with my
method is that wine vats probably have less circumference at the ends than
at the middle. So, if that's the case, you might have to have someone
lathe-turn the bases and then apply the individual basswood strips those
bases instead of a film canister.
