Friends,
I picked this up on another list this AM. I heard all the RR's are
like the oil companies, making great money but delivering high prices
and poor quality! Companies have merged, trimmed the fat and
streamlined their operations in anticipation of slow times, but I guess
they never figured on having good times.
See below as it's in regards to the favorite railroad to bash!!
Gosh, doesn't Uncle Pete do a good job; now if they could just get some
more
money out of those darned model manufacturers who want to release an MStL
box car!
Regards,
CKD

> Actions to Improve Service in the LA Basin: :
> Senior Operating Management on site in LA Basin to spearhead recovery
> efforts
> Current priorities are outbound trains from terminals to maintain
> fluidity
> All intermodal facilities are currently one-for-one, outbound to
> inbound
> relationship
> Locomotive projection to release 25 trains today
> Trains Held (as of 8:00am): 41 trains, 19 for power, 14 for ramp
> congestion/cars & 6 for customer
> LA Basin is congested and metering inbound trains, causing 2 hour
> spacing from Yuma and Yermo
> Seven intermodal trains laid down to restrict inbound flow and power
> excessing into LA.
> For reduced tonnage (to keep trains running into the Basin with
> existing
> HP), plans are being developed for intermodal pick-ups.
> ZNPLB-25 will clear out Garfield and Lyndyll
> Locomotive Allocation Team has resumed powering inbound trains at 2.5
> hptt to eliminate trains reductions/ delays
> Terminals - traffic will be handled on the FIFO - first in first out
> basis
> Empty repos will be fully powered and prioritized into the Basin to
> ensure car supplies are available for outbound trains
> Will continue to dray out of ICTF as needed to other ramps in the
Basin
> Crew supply is improving and project to have adequate crews for todays
> operations
> Alhambra Sub is still congested but overall line fluidity appears
to be
> improving
> Repos projections: 7 trains to arrive today, 4 Friday & 4 Sat
