A July 1990 article in RMC "Pennsy's Truc-Train F39A" It has a photo of the
flat with the hitches removed and the car painted yellow. It shows a well
weathered, near black, wood floor on either side of the center steel deck
plates. The wood has a very pronounced yellow overspray from the repaint job.

 this is for anyone who built their F39 for post trailer operation. I have
never seen one of these creatures and wonder if it would have a steel floor
or would a wooden surface have been installed like many flatcars?
