Just a relaxing Saturday evening here in Minnesota, thought I would pass on
some news from the PPSSW.
Work continues on Dave Jasper's temporary layout. Dave installed the port
scene from his lasst layout with the Woebegonne Junction set up that many of
you saw at the 1999 NASG Convention. He connected them with a helicoil so
he has nice point to point operation. Ted Larson was in town the last time
we visited Dave. Ted, the member of the PPSSW living farthest east does not
make many meetings but he dove right into the projects. This week we had no
meeting but Tuesday Tom Lennon stopped over to get some photos to support
articles he is writing and Steve Doyle stopped in to experiment with some of
the Bragdon scenery foam I am trying. It is inspiring when the guys stop
by, they encourage me to get things done and always make great suggestions.
Tom, made the suggestion that I might want to finish up a small section of
an area that was near complete. He was correct of course, the small area in
questions was started about 10 years ago and somehow I never got back to it.
Well, I will get that done before the NMRA layout tour in May. The
following evening, I stopped by Steve Doyles and helped him rough in one
section of his layout. I wanted to get back right away, I freed up three
nights but as usual, Steve was going out of town. (Just kidding Steve). We
will get back to it and about 10 days.
The day Ted came to town, Tom Lennon brought his American Models Northern.
It ran great and looks impressive. Tom will be bringing it back for the
NMRA tour. Well, I have enough materials to make two more sheets of
landscape so I am heading to the basement.
