George, I think I wrote about this a couple of years ago. To use the HO
Electromatic uncoupler, I merely reversed the side plates so they lean
outward instead of inward. When mounted between the rails they look like
guard rails. he other thing I did is file off the top of the main screw
that holds the whole gadget together and filed off the other end so the bolt
did not stick out further than the widened plates. That way the slot you
cut between the rails will accept the unit as a drop-in from the top. I
have two installed on my S scale layout and they pull my 802s into the
delayed uncoupling position powering them with 12 volt DC. I have a car
battery hooked up to a standby battery charger (from Griot's Garage Catalog)
and I use that for these and a bunch of 12 volt relays. If that isn't
practical for you, RadioShack has 12 volt DC power supplies. Wally Collins

Subject: {S-Scale List} Kadee HO electric uncouplers

A couple of years back I posted a question about using
Kadee "electric" uncoupers with S scale 802 couplers. I received a
reply on O scale but also one on HO scale. I had a flood (wipeout) in
my basement shortly after and only now am I getting back to
tracklaying. I've lost the reply of the person who used a modified HO
Kadee "electric" uncoupler. If you are still how there could you
forward me the details again?
  Thanks
  George Courtney
