Does anyone have an outdoor S scale railway - scale or hirail? I am
aware of at least one S gauge layout in a garden railway magazine some
years back. The layout was in Europe and it was O scale narrow gauge
running on S gauge track. The rolling stock would have been a similar
size to North American S standard gauge. As there are many HO/OO
layouts running outdoors it would seem that S would be suitable too. In
its hirail form with the large flanges it would be a little more
tolerant of deviations from the norm than HO.
