 . . . . . . . I am quite frankly getting a little tired of the
suggestions that the NASG should be the Sugar Daddy for any new project. .

Agreed. The way some people say the NASG should do this and that, one
would think the NASG is a big company with executive offices and a large
full time technical and clerical staff. The NASG is seven elected guys and
a volunteer staff, all of whom do what they do in their "spare" time.
http://www.nasg.org/staffs.html I'm impressed that they do as much as they
do. I'm sure it's easy to get burned out.

Having said that though, I will now throw out my idea for something the
NASG could do for us. Find Ace. I don't mean just publish the last know
address of Mannheim Tool Co or its owner. I mean physically locate the
person who has possession of remaining stock, tools & dies, and help him
find someone to buy it. This would of course require membership
participation. We must have someone who knows something or who lives
within driving distance of the owner.

Incidentally, do you know what your representative (your regional VP)
thinks on any of these subjects, what the NASG should be involved in or
stay out of? To the best of my knowledge, mine is not on this yahoo list,
nor on the NASGMembers list.
