Agreed! Kaslo, a Canadian Company, is not doing the CPR Canadian Budd
cars. Why? There was not enough demand! Imagine. This is arguably the
most renown Transcontinental in the world! If it were HO, they would be
lining up at the dealer's counters even though it's been done in HO at least
4 times in various media and can be had as a brass kit. Even though I don't
model CPR on a large scale, I ordered 13 cars. There just weren't enough
other orders! Pity, it would have made an amazing display model coupled
behind an AM FP7 and F7B.
Unfortunately, none of the US cars that are being produced are remotely
close enough to go in that direction.
>From a manufacturer's point of view, in S scale, there is not enough of a
market to have two people produce the same item. I know. I have put a
project on hold until someone else's has passed on because I don't want to
split the market. There are other things that I can do. If anyone wants to
know what I am up to, just email me. That way I can avoid duplicity. I am
tight-lipped because I don't want to offer 'vapour-trains'. I don't take
any deposits until I am within less than a year of production. Even then, I
don't need the pressure. As long as it's announced and no one trumps me, it
will get done.
