For the NYC fans among us, take a good look at the cover of the most recent
NYCSHS "Central Headlight" issue, 2nd quarter 2005. (Yes, I know they are a
year behind...) The tracks show the real difference between a mainline turnout
and a shorter yard turnout. The mainline turnout looks to be about 75% longer,
point to frog, than the yard turnouts. Close to the length of the two F7B
units pictured. Just thought it was a neat side by side comparison from the
prototype. For any of you who are NYC historical society members or know
someone who is, check it out.
