Yep, you are seeing it correctly in my opinion.

How's this for a thought: Have a series of columns that simply lists
all products that are available in S -- current or past -- by category.
Thus, one column can list all RR stations that have ever existed in S
scale. An asterisk can indicate currently available. Along with a
comment that most everything shows up on eBay eventually, you might be
able to stimulate some interest in S. The next column lists all
cabooses. The next is dedicated to passenger diesels. And so forth and
so on...... I am sure we all would be amazed at the length and variety
on the list.

We would also be amazed at the fact that so little of it is currently
available. Which means we should go buy it now instead of waiting until
our layouts are at the stage where it really is needed. Here today,
gone tomorrow.....

There is no reason that NASG could not provide this kind of a service.
It is just a matter of deciding to do it. After all, there is a
Promotions Committee, is there not? Actually, anyone could provide this
service under NASG auspices. All it takes is one individual willing to
do the work. But don't suggest the "idea man". He is too busy writing
emails.
