Think they said was 22,500. And I believe I talked to every one of them!

Agreed. And most folks who had only one or two booths did not have ANY
contact with the union folks. The problem seemed to be breakdown of
communication between the NMRA and some members of the union... the NMRA
had already paid the union to simply watch us and some did not get that
message.

The only cost issue that was different from any other National Train
Shows was the $100 Philly license and tax on profits. (Nice folks there
in Philly... as long as you open your wallet!) Most often, a temp
license costs between $15-25.

We spent an additional $40 on gas compared to last year with similar
distance of travel, so if folks backed out due to fuel costs that was
'penny-wise & pound-foolish.' Hotel costs for us were about the same as
we stayed out of the downtown area due to trailer parking issues and
drove in. Booth costs might have been a few dollars higher... but so is
everything else!

The NTS is the best promotional dollar spent. Cost per attendee for us
is just under $0.09 while attending the NASG or O scale Conventions is
usually well over $1.00 per attendee.

Take care
Bill
