Hi Alex,

Alan Evans asked me to reply to your post.  During a club meeting I 
attached a 802 to the front of an AM Northern.  It wasn't easy and it 
wasn't pretty.  If I remember correctly, after using an HO coupler box 
and trimming that to fit, it was still .040" too high when mounted in 
the stock location.  I finally just left the pilot off the the 
locomotive altogether.

To do it so it looks acceptable, you'll probably have to file out the 
zamak pilot to accept the coupler box and shim the whole assembly down 
to the correct height using styrene.  Maybe you can use an offset 
height HO coupler to help.  I'd be tempted to use a brass unit from a 
different locomotive if you could locate one.
