Dear Kelvin,
They converted almost 100 of the 400+ E27s to L2 class 0-8-0s. Many
of these lasted until the end of steam. The pilot deck was shortened,
they added a sand dome as well as moving the bell and generator. The
front ladders are different as the uprights are modified at the first
riser. The tender was changed to clear vision.
