I'm actually MODELING! (Unbelievable.)

Yup... caught up on other "house" things... the work week doesn't look to be
overtime... I have some TIME!!

After putting together a "needs" list and firing off a couple of model RR
supply related emails, I've been sitting at the workbench and returned
working on my first PRS boxcar.

These kits are really nice, if somewhat "picky" in the small parts
department. Was sort of frustrated at myself with the brake wheel linkage.
You see, after spending some time carefully cleaning the fragile brake rod
of casting sprue "tits"... I was making the very last touch-up pass and
"poink"... it broke off. (Arrggghhh!)

Ah well, no biggie, already have it in place and the two ends glued. Still
though... got to learn to be more careful.

I've decided to do something with my S scale that I was doing with my Sn3.
To wit: With the addition of nice looking brake pipe air hoses to the
models, I have decided to cut off the metal "hose" that Kadee couplers use.
I don't use uncoupling magnets anyway, perferring "swizzle stick"
uncoupling. So, why not cut off the redundant hose? And so I have. I
really like the finished appearance.

And now, the glue is drying on the "B" end details that are in place. Only
assembly that is left are the stirrups and side grabs/ladders. From that
point it's begin to apply the weathering schmeer that I do, and in regards
to rollingstock: 1 down and only a Gazillion to go.

See 'ya! Back to modeling!
