Hi Jim,

The USRA Light Pacific only ran on a couple of roads so that may have been a
deciding factor in
its unpopularity.  The GTW clones had different details and a Delta cast
trailing truck.

Although the Light Mikes were more numerous than the Heavy Mike, the Heavy
Mike might be a good choice because all a person would
have to do is change the superstructure to Light if they so desired.  I am
sure that SSL&S would come up with the superstructure.
The same tender and running gear could be used.

But I still maintain, a non-brass (that does not mean plastic)
standard Pennsy K4 or standard NYC Hudson would do well.

Aw what the heck, let's wish for the impossible.  What S really needs is a
non-brass CNR U-2-g Northern!!!  They ran all over the place, New England
etc.  The last one 6218 ran internationally up until
the mid-1970's.  You could even convert one to a GTW U-3-b!  Really cool
vanderbilt tenders as well!!!

Weaver models has done a CNR U-4-a 6400 in O scale.  It is pretty good
looking and tempting at only $1200 CDN RTR!  They are also doing the CNR U-2-
g and GTW U-3-b!

Okay, now back to reality.  How about an USRA 0-6-0?  They were used many
places.  The GTR/GTW used them.  Some even made it into Niagara Falls,
Canada.

cheers,

Andy Malette
