Jamie, et al, Count me in for Rail to Trails "fitness ride". Also have a passenger van with bike racks, available for shuttle from hotel if needed.
For those with "pot bellies" and on target for weight (diet / lack of exercise) related health problems; suggest you loose inhibition about wearing "tights" and get your butts out the house and away from the computer a couple of times a week. Actually it will be too warm in July at Baltimore for "tights", but if the ride is going to be over a mile I'll be wearing "lyra shorts". Typically loose fitting shorts will cause "chaffing of thighs" on longer rides. Unless you like pain, or wearing diaper rash oitment while walking around convention tables afterwards :~) As far as being against ripping up rails to build trails... anyone who hasn't visited the Lehigh river Valley area North of Jim Thorpe PA, may want to fit it into their Northeast vacation plans some year. Chamber of Commerce can hook you up with Bike Shops that rent bicycles and runs shuttle vans with trailers for bikes to trail head. It's pretty much gentle downhill all the way (may have to walk one or two hills between end of trail and town). Enough for now, Dennis Hultay, Bloomfield NJ --- In [email protected], > > NASG Bicycling Coordinator and All, > Louise and I are leisure cyclists and especially enjoy railtrails and would be interested in a Baltimore area bicycle tour. ( Please note, we do not promote the removing of track to convert right of way to a railtrail. Yahoo!
