Bill,
I put 12V or 14V bulbs in my GP 9's and 35's several years ago. I was
worried about the heat issue, therefore I cored out the lamp holes just
enough to insert a brass or aluminum tube. The bulbs are inside the
tubes and set so the front of the bulb protrudes just enough to look
like a lense. Still worried about heat, I also compromised on lamp
brightness by placing a low ohm resister in series with the bulb. The
GP35's look okay, but I still need to play with the brightness on the
9's. It's too dim, but my shells have not melted.
