The Pequea Valley Model Railroaders (PVMR) are putting the final touches on
our enlarged (now 8' X 16' ) "S" Gauge layout. The layout will be on display
at the DUTCHWAY FARM MARKET on Rt 41 in GAP, PA from Nov 29 thru Dec 2 and
Dec 6 thru Dec 9. Among the interesting facts about this larger layout, one
of the reasons we expanded was to allow local Volunteer Fire Depts to use it
for training. Our smaller SHS travelling layout served in such a capacity
last spring for "younger" fire lads and lassies. Our DUTCHWAY hosts will be
hosting several Fire Depts for training one of our evenings. Look for the
flashing red lights.
Operating trains will be American Flyer, S-Helper Service, American Models,
PA Heritage Models trolleys. Buildings will be almost exclusively
Plasticville. LOTs of "pushbuttons" for children of ALL ages.
PVMR will also have a SUB SALE going on Nov 30 and Dec 1 & 2, some of the
proceeds once again benefiting Toys For Tots.
Probably wondering "How To Get There"; well it's pretty easy. We are in
GAP, PA, south of U S 30 on RT 41, or North of US RT 1 on PA RT 41 (ADC pg
3577,
A-6) WE will be open from 10 AM til 8 PM (give or take) on mentioned dates.
DUTCHWAY is a complete SuperMarket, one of a family of markets in
Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Our problem seems to be keeping away from the
Bakery and
the Restaurant (GREAT Buffet Breakfast on Saturdays) BOTH great places to
visit (as are ALL of the other Depts). Store Manager Jeff assures me there
will
be many fine bargains during our visit.
