The Fast Track tools <http://www.handlaidtrack.com/s.php> are impressive, but has anybody tried the Dick Karnes method of building switches? I first heard him discuss his procedure in a clinic at the Chicago NASG convention, and he wrote a two-part article that appeared recently in the S/Sn3 Modeling Guide magazine. No jigs required. No filing of frog rails. Use whatever rail and ties you want. Any frog number or in between frog number. I myself have not had occasion to try his approach, because I am not in a switch-building phase, but anybody building switches should check it out. -- Bill Roberts Yahoo!
