Jim....The best thing to do is to add up the current draw of all the
trains you anticipate running simultaneously. Include lighted
passenger cars, illuminated cabeese, possibly electric switch motors,
signal lights, and so forth. If the total is over 5 amps, then you
could obtain one 10 amp unit or use two 5 amp units. It has nothing to
do with the particular scale of your models. It is directly related to
the electrical load (ie, amps) that you want the system to power. Keep
in mind that a modern small O scale loco might draw less amps than an
older large HO loco. Ed L.
