Just wanted to make sure credit was given to Doug Evans for the model and photo
the Bill Lane posted on the egroup home page. Doug sent it around to a group
of us and I thought it was pretty neat so I passed it along to Bill. Doug's
explanation with the photo:
Here's an American Models ex-Southern Railway 40' trailer repainted and
lettered for Chicago Great Western. The Transi-cold refrigeration unit is
scrap styrene. The 100 gallon diesel fuel tank is a wooden dowel rod. The CGW
logo is from a Microscale O Scale decal sheet. Lettering is Microscale RR
Gothic. CGW had 200 of these to serve the Midwest meat packing industry.
Great model Doug!! I also understand from Ron Sebastian that the C&NW
Historical Society had some nice screen printed CGW decals for trailers in N,
HO, & O Scales several years ago. Ron had them done in S Scale at the same time
and they are still available.
