For those of you who are considering getting NWSL's new P:64 wheel sets (item #
2643-6) for your SHS switcher locos, BE WARNED...

I just got my set today, and they do not fit in the gearbox!!! From what I can
determine, NWSL has assembled them incorrectly; there are two round, brass
sleeves on the axles (which are supposed to be positioned between the delrin
axle-gear and the gearbox) which act as spacers and bearings, and these round,
brass sleeves have flanges on one end that butt up against the wheel (this is
how mine were assembled, but it may not be the norm). These sleves,
apparently, should be turned the other way with the flanged ends against the
delrin axle-gear, because the flanges prevent the brass sleeves from fitting
into the bearing-slot in the trucks. (This brass sleve is the NWSL equivalent
of the square brass bearing that is stock on the SHS wheelsets).

Correcting this problem should be simple... but it will require a
wheel-puller/gear-puller/whatever you wanna call it (which I, naturally, do NOT
have), because the sleeves cannot be removed and reversed without removing the
wheel.

Thanks for the headache, NWSL.

But on a positive note... my SHS USRA hoppers look GREAT with their P:64 wheels
(yeah, those actually fit).
