Benjamin...If memory serves me correctly, Mr. Jackman made
essentially the same statement a long time ago -- over a year or two
back -- and never did provide any substantive information about the
mystery product from the mystery manufacturer to be released on a
mystery date for a mystery price. Checking the List's archives will
be most interesting if you want to follow up on that. It seems to me
that if Mr. Jackman was genuinely concerned about product
duplication, he could simply provide each of the potential
manufacturers of the same product with each other's names and let
them work it out between themselves. At last year's O SCALE WEST
convention here in California, Mr. Yoder did say that talk of another
manufacturer producing a 44-ton loco was a major reason for him not
pursuing that loco in S scale. Perhaps we ourselves have killed the
Golden Goose by making these kinds of statements? Not so
cheerfully....Ed L.
