I would like to produce the 44- and 70-tonner project but not at the expense
of my rolling stock kits. If someone else gets to the market first, so be
it. I won't lose sleep over it. S scale has HUGE potential for new items,
albeit smaller sales than HO, N or even O, so there is ALWAYS something that
can be produced that modelers will buy. Picking the right subject at the
right price is always the key.

Not all of my work is model RR related; I have several large industrial
customers with varying requirements. Assuredly, ALL of these guys have
production schedules that I must maintain, even when doing design work for
them. Model RR projects take a back seat to them in most cases since RR
kits are not (usually) schedule sensitive. I'm also developing new
injection molding methods that are applicable to small runs of parts. All
of this takes time, so if it appears that I'm not working very fast in S
scale because several months have lapsed since the last one came out, please
consider that I'm a one-man-band and my industrial customers have priority.

Whenever a drive mechanism is involved, the time it takes to produce
XYZ-item is lengthened. Fortunately, the 44- and 70-tonners use the same
mechanism and share similar shell styles, like hoods and the cab. There is
always "someone else" out there claiming to be working on the same projects
that others of us are working on. If we manufacturers were scared off by
the "someone else is ." claim, nothing would be produced. Rolling stock is
my primary focus but if I see a need for diesels, I'll produce those as
well.
