American "S" Gauge is a third option to AM and SHS high rail track.

It is Code 172 nickel silver on good looking ties for both the flex and
fixed radius curves. Also they have a nice looking 19" and 27" radius
switches.

If you are inclined, Fast Tracks make jigs for building your own switches,
in any rail size you request.

Pick the most common switch you think you will use. Make a few with the
jig, and as the odd switches are needed you should have enough confidence to
tackle scratch building them.

On the other hand, AM and SHS cars with AF compatible wheels can be changed
out to scale wheels from NWSL. Once that's done, scale track and standards
won't be hard to continue with. I know I'm glad I made the scale switch
many years ago.
