Hi All --

Along these lines, there is the story about the widow who sold all her dead
husband's brass locos for $20 to $50 because that is what he told her they
were worth (to keep her from getting crazy about what he had really spent).
It wasn't until virtually eveything was sold that an honest person let the
cat out of the bag.

Moral: Don't lie to your spouse about your hobby! In reality, it is
their's too.

As a former shop owner, I handled several estates. Even when the survivor
thought that most of it was junk, I was able to make them significant $,
because one person's junk is another's treasure! If you have a collection
of toys that you know have some potential value, do your spouse a favor a
arrange, ahead of time, for someone knowledgeable to take care of the
estate.

Have fun for a long time!

there is no reason except for a lack of experience why
a seller can't find out about what they are selling unless they take
no time or effort to search the categories for similar items. But it
does happen and the "I'm not a model railroader" statement is a dead
giveaway.
