One of the problems encountered with track pans was birds and animals 
also filling up or floating on them (such as ducks and geese). 
Drowned varmints and unsuspecting birds were frequently scooped into 
the tenders and would clog the feedwater pipes to the locomotives. No 
doubt a few Canada Geese entered the country illegally in this manner!

Weere any of the Canadian locos fitted with water scoops?
