Because of the recent talk on the list about auto-racks I thought the following
might be of interest. It is from a local central coast club in California. I
have no connection with the writer and can give no more information - sorry

Last night I was driving southbound on US-101 at Chualar at 7:00 PM en
route to Paso Robles when a unit train of empty auto-racks passed me
northbound on the Coast Line. On the point was a Norfolk Southern
locomotive, I believe a GE Dash 8-40C. The second unit was black and
lettered simply "LTEX". I was quite surprised to see NS power on UP
trackage this far West. Is UP swapping power with roads that distant?
I'm happy to know there is prototype support for running locomotives
of Eastern lines on my SP-theme layout!
