Hi all,
Good seeing you all at the convention again and meeting some new
people also. I guess I have a propensity to talk a lot so hope I didn't
keep anybody awake on the bus rides!
The DesPlaines "kit" for the GP-7 if it is the same as the one I
bought a few years ago at Cleveland is only the long hood portion, you
need to purchase a complete AM GP-9 then just replace that long hood.
Just buying a chassis/frame will not give you a complete unit. The cab
and short hood is the same on the 7' and 9's. The frame might require
some mods, I haven't looked at possible changes there yet other than
some Geep 7's had smaller fuel tanks which were narrower and recessed
quite a bit from the side sills. I have a copy of those drawings if
anyone needs them.
Congrats to Stan Furmanek, a deserving recipient for sure! Also to
Bill Lane.....and I.liked your description of the "Sopranos" through the
kitchen SHS delivery. It was warm in there! Congrats to the other award
winners and contest winners too, nice work! The BAFC did a great job.
Lot of work and sacrifice goes into putting a convention together.
Bill Fraley.........as always, good job with organizing the Yahoo
group gathering and my wife says thanks for the candy bar! It was very
tough to transport that home without eating it. And I guess some cooks
in Baltimore just don't know what a true "patty melt" is. Glad to hear
there are other who have my sense of humor too!
Looking forward to Lowell in '08.
                                                          Bud Rindfleisch
