Hello again S-Heads!

While you guys have been pickin' your noses and scratchin' your butt's, I've
been: MODELING!
(Heavens me, is this getting to be a HABIT?)

The past few evenings I found it quite relaxing to turn on some Oldies
radio, kick back at my workbench, and leisurely assemble my way through a
stack of AM kits I received. (Confession: I did take a bit of time and play
some GPL, though.) I now have 8 new boxcars sitting on the layout awaiting
some weathering. There are four kits remaining, but they are duplicates of
cars already owned. (The price was so good I couldn't pass on them.) I
would like to remove only the lettering and retain the boxcar red
paint/data. Before I proceed with my own attempt, have any of you try this
before on AM-painted/letted boxcars? If so, what method did you successfully
use? (I have ELO and perhaps some Scale Coat strippers on hand.)

Also, as I amass a track order and some other stuff to enable forward
progress on the actual layout, my "next" workbench project will be to modify
and detail my first Kansas City Belt S12. One of the things I would like to
address is the oversized handrails/stanchions that come with the stock AM
Baldwin S12. Before I go off on my own with the handrails... is there a
retrofit kit available for this model somewhere that I am overlooking?

Welp... all for now. It's time to get ready and head off to church!
