Hi George,

Offhand, I would say that the hole can be any size and width, as long 
as the linkage is free to move and not bind or run out of traveling 
room.  I'm guessing that most modelers would probably want the hole to 
be as small as possible to be as inconspicuous as possible but still 
give totally free movement to the linkage.  The position of the guide 
bar could be a factor in how much movement the linkage requires.  IOW, 
lower = wider and higher = narrower.
