Gents.....Wanna go to the NASG convention next summer? Live west of the
Rocky Mountains? Concerned about the cost of flying? Here is da answer:
Call up Alaska Airlines and request membership in their frequent flyer
program and buy the VISA card that allows you to accumulate "bonus miles".
Yer cost will be $75 for a one-year membership. Here is the good part: you
will be given 20,000 bonus miles as soon as you join up. No need to
actually charge anything to the VISA card. And, 20,000 bonus miles equates
to one ticket to anywhere in the lower 48 that is served by Alaska Airlines.
Now the interesting part is that you do NOT have to fly to Anchorage, AK.
Nope, Alaska Airlines flies to Boston and New York City and most all
worthwhile points in the western half of the USA. While you might well be
routed through Portland, OR or Seattle, WA, you can hardly complain
considering the airfare was only $75 total. This promotional deal ends at
the end of this month (September 2007) and so you really ought to
investigate it promptly. Have a good time in Boston and do not eat too much
lobster. After all, there will be plenty of lobster claws there -- right on
the display layouts attached to those AF cars. Cheers...Ed L.
