Just visited my favorite hobby shop in Des Plaines and picked up "Railroading
in Downtown Chicago, 1958 - 1969"; Vols 1 & 2 by Robert Olmsted. Excellent,
truly excellent photos for modelers of passenger trains! Lots of high angle
and overhead shots of E's, F's, Geep's, PA's, etc. If you are into detailing
your models, these two books are "must haves"! They are actually soft cover
magazine style, about 50 pages each so not too expensive. They are super sharp
black and white but the key is the high angles to show lots of details most
modelers miss.
I can tell you from experience that roof detail shots of locomotives are
absolutely golden to a builder and these books are a real mother lode.
