Just a quick report from the MHRy here in tropical Minnesota. Andre
mentioned being the lazies modeler in S, well buddy, you are going to
go a long way to catch up with me. I am the vintage model of the S
Scale slacker.
Talking about Ron at Des Plaines being crabby, I don't really buy
that at all. Of course being in retail would make one a bit up tight
but really, I think it is just that many of us see him with St. Susan
and of course anyone would look crabby next to that sweet young
lady. But hey can he be that bad if such a sweet lady would stick
with him all these years?
Interesting discussion about Ron's assignment on the board of the
Officer's Club. I was actually at Fort Knox during the same period.
I don't recall making it to the Officer's Club but I do remember that
after the first six weeks of basic training, I did get a chance to go
to the 1-2-3 club.
If Ron has a mean streak, it is that he teases us all the time. I
stop through the store and he shows me a "project" that is just about
done. Then he makes us sit and sit. I think he just gets great
satisfaction out of doing that.
Well, I guess if that makes him happy, I will play along, I just know
that soon, I will be building a SOO caboose and adding some CGW
boxcars to the layout. After all, I have been in S(omeday) scale for
many years. I can wait.
