I will be hosting a "Coffee" for S Scalers the week end of December 
14, 15 & 16 in Johnson City. 

The plans for this event are far from complete.  At this time the 
following activities are planned: 

      Friday evening - Greet and meet - Location and time to be 
announced. 
      Saturday 
            9:00 AM   ETSU Campus - Social and private opening of 
George L. Carter Train Museum.  Includes Mountain Empire Modular 
Railroaders HO layout, the Bankus N layout and the McKee G layout 
plus static showcase exhibits.  Coffee, soft drinks, water and 
donuts will be provided. 
            10:30 AM   ETSU Campus, Brown Hall Science Building, 
Room 312 - General Discussion - Vendor Exhibits, etc.  S scale 
vendors should contact me for set up arrangements. 
            12:00 Lunch Break - Burger King and student center are 
on campus.  Ruby Tuesdays, Wendys, Wellingtons, Pals and Back Yard 
Burgers within walking distance.  Those driving in on Saturday may 
want to visit the Carter Museum at this time. 
            12:45 PM - ETSU Room 312 -Clinic - Presenter and topic 
to be announced. 
            2:00 PM - Railroad Tour - Sites in JC & Erwin to be 
developed. 
            6:00 PM - Dinner, Show & Tell, Presentation - Location & 
presenter to be announced. 
      Sunday 1:30 PM Doe River Gorge - Hampton, TN - Excursion over 
ET&WNC's narrow gauge tracks.  Great trip with two tunnels.  Meet at 
1:00 PM and carpool to Hampton from ETSU's parking lot.  Advance 
first come first ride reservations of $10.00/ea required.  Mail by

For those coming in on Friday, I will try to obtain some special 
hotel rates and a suite or lounge type area to gather in. 

There is no cost for this event but I would appreciate it if you 
would let me know if you are coming so that I can make timely 
adjustments for the size of the group.  I would also appreciate 
donations to the Model Train Center to help offset my costs.   Any 
comments on what to include in this and future events and your input 
on how often S scalers  in the SE would like to hold something 
similar to this event (quarterly, semi-annually) possibly rotating 
to different cities (Nashville, Atlanta, Oak Ridge, Ashville,etc.).
